Straight sided presses provide improved ram accuracy, which produces a high quality component and also leads to a longer tool life between re-grinds.

Worcester Presses, the Stourbridge, West Midlands based power press manufacturer and sole UK representative for Taiwan based, Chin Fong Presses has recently delivered and installed a GTX-160H and a GTX-200H straight sided double crank press for a UK based company manufacturing high volume pressings for the building and construction industry.

Both presses include vertical sliding screen guards and also feature rigid steel frames, high drive torque wet clutch and brake, extra long precision six point and centred box type gibbing.

For this customer these straight sided presses provide improved ram accuracy which produces a high quality component and also leads to a longer tool life between re-grinds.

Servo feeders have been fitted to both presses and Worcester Presses engineers advised and assisted in the connections between the feeder and the press control system.

The GTX series of presses has been designed for the application of high precision presswork usually found in automotive, building, and white goods components.

Applications include progression work, blanking lines, second operation ganged tooling.

The features include fast response hydraulic overload protection which maintains parallelism during offset loads.

Charles Higgins, managing director at Worcester Presses said: "This is a new customer who approached us as they were wanting to expand their production to meet demands from the market".

"The presses were delivered at different times with the GTX-160 being delivered and installed last, during the summer.

Chin Fong are now one of the largest power press manufacturers in the World and last year delivered around 3,000 presses of various sizes from their manufacturing facilities in Taiwan.
