Longer bearing life through higher load
ratings

Wyko has expanded its range of bearings for use in heavy-duty processing and handling applications with NSK's new EA series of high-performance spherical roller bearings.

Wyko has expanded its range of bearings for use in heavy-duty processing and handling applications with NSK's new EA series of high-performance spherical roller bearings The EA series' new revolutionary (patent pending) internal design offers the advantages of longer life through reduced heat generation, low wear, high strength, and improved heat resistance for operation at temperatures as high as 200C

The resultant user benefits are improved cost performance, stable operation and maximum efficiency.

The bearings offer load ratings exceeding those of previous designs by between 10 and 30 percent.

The extra capacity bearings are ideal for extending the life of transmission system equipment such as heavy-duty gearboxes used in steel and paper manufacturing as well as crane and other bulk handling machinery.

The increased load rating of the bearings is achieved via a revolutionary cage design that eliminates the need for a separate guide ring.

The cage enables a greater number of larger diameter rollers to be incorporated compared with previous spherical roller bearings using pressed steel cages.

The higher load rating leads to a significantly extended operational fatigue life.

The EA design incorporates the function of the guide ring within the cage.

Advantages are that heat generation is substantially reduced and the limiting speed for the bearing is much higher.

The elimination of the guide ring also ensures that the cage is well balanced and offers increased strength.

Moreover, cage wear is substantially reduced by utilising a high-precision roller-guided cage, which minimises skewing of the rollers with closely controlled clearances.

The EA Series bearings feature optimised raceway and roller contact surface geometry together with the provision of heat stabilized inner and outer rings and pressed steel cages.

These enable operation at temperatures as high as 200C.

The bearings form part of a comprehensive range of torque transmission equipment and components available from over 140 Wyko branches nationwide. Request a free brochure from Eriks UK ...
