Dampen vibration and save on machine
life

Anti-vibration flexible bushes and mounting systems reduce the harmful effects of vibration and noise on machine life, product quality and machine operators.

The harmful effects of vibration and noise on machine life, product quality and machine operators, can be reduced with Wyko's new range of anti-vibration flexible bushes and mounting systems from Paulstra The breadth of the range, with over 2000 standard products, means that the bushes and mounts find almost universal application from packaging and food processing to quarrying, machining and marine applications

The deal with Wyko means that leading edge elastomeric products for vibration reduction and acoustic isolation are now available from over 140 local branches throughout the UK.

Wyko Marketing Director, Malcolm Sheryn comments, "Isolation from vibration and noise are important issues at the moment and the demand for a simple but effective solution is growing and the Paulstra range meets these requirements perfectly." Research conducted by Paulstra shows marked improvements in productivity are achievable due to reduced maintenance requirements and increased job satisfaction of operators.

Long-term testing of both design and materials has produced a standard range of products that caters for the majority of applications, featuring a natural rubber mix bonded to corrosion resistant metal.

The excellent mechanical properties of natural rubber are retained while durability is enhanced by mixing with specifically developed polymers, the result is low creep and a low average of stiffness under the effects of vibration.

The Paulstra range also includes Silicone and EPDM (mix) alternatives to natural rubber to meet the needs of specific industries.

Silicone for example is used in the electronics industry, where good insulation properties are essential and clean room conditions often apply.

EPDM mix is an anti-bacterial, clean elastomer that is used in the food industry and in applications where the anti-vibration device may come into contact with potable water.

The metal element of the anti-vibration devices is also designed to provide robust and reliable performance in most types of operating conditions.

Extensive tests have proved this to be the case, even in arduous environments.

The anti-corrosive metal has been exposed to a saline atmosphere for up to 400 hours, yet has remained unaffected.

For the small minority of applications where this level of performance is unsatisfactory a stainless steel alternative is available.

Most of the Paulstra standard products offer the advantage of being easy to select and fit.

However, for those applications that are not so straightforward Wyko can also provide the powerful selection features of a dedicated software package, Paulstrasoft.

Paulstrasoft can be used across the four basic groups in the extensive Paulstra range.

These groups include: Radiaflex circular mounts with different types of fixing (male or female, simple threaded mounts): Nivofix and Minifix machine mounts, which filter out high frequency vibration and offer the added advantages of accurate height adjustment and corrosion resistant anti-slip bases: Stabiflex units for mobile applications, and newest of all are PaulstraDyno units that retain the same height under normal load across the range and offer 90% vibration attenuation at 1500 rpm.
