Website improves access to transmissions
info

Wyko has launched a website to represent Fenner transmissions and provides easy access to a central resource of information on roller chain, belting, gearboxes and shaft fixings.

A brand new website has been launched to represent Fenner, one of the UK's most trusted power transmission brands The site can be found at www.fptgroup.com and provides easy access to a recently compiled central resource of information on Fenner products such as roller chain, belting, gearboxes and shaft fixings

A host of technical specification details are provided on the site alongside support information for design, production and maintenance engineers on how to specify, fit and maintain Fenner products.

The new site is designed to assist customers in making the right product choice in as little time as possible through easy access to detailed, informative content.

Using the fast navigation and search function that cross-references data in ten main product areas, users can quickly find what they need from over 300 pages of information.

The site will also direct visitors to their nearest distributor, anywhere in the world.

Comprehensive mechanical specifications are included for each product ranging from weight and dimensions, to power capability and fitting options.

This type of information is particularly useful when replacing an existing unit, as performance characteristics may have changed with the introduction of an updated model; for example, there are estimated to be over 20,000 Fenner SMSR shaft mounted gearboxes in operation and the current generation have a third more power capacity than the previous one, resulting in the next size down being the right one to specify in most cases.

One of the main reasons for premature failure of power transmission equipment in the field is that the item was wrongly specified or incorrectly fitted in the first place.

To help combat this problem there are also focussed, real world specification considerations and fitting tips included on the website for each product category.

Product Manager for Fenner products, Bryan Burton comments, 'in creating the new web site, we were determined to deliver more than just a product catalogue on-line; it has given us the chance to present information in a more product specific manner, making it easier to reference and provide a much deeper level of information on the use and performance of our products.

Support of this level will justify customers' confidence in Fenner products by adding to the local, industry specific knowledge provided by our distributors.

We see it as an essential tool designed to make it easier for customers to select the right Fenner products and one which will continue to develop into a complete design and maintenance resource with the addition of CAD drawings and product selection programmes later this year.

About Fenner - the Fenner brand started life over 140 years ago in the manufacture of friction belts.

The Fenner brand today encompasses a number of power transmission related products including roller chain, couplings, gearboxes and castors.

All of these, as well as the latest generation of belt products, have justifiably earned a reputation for quality and reliability in tough operating environments.

Fenner SMSR units are the UK's best selling shaft mounted speed reducer gearboxes and are synonymous with the durability and machine optimisation that protects Fenner reputation and remains a significant factor as to why specifiers choose the Fenner brand today.
