Drive and motor repair service opened

Electronic repair centre can offer a centralised motor and drive repair solution for local UK customers across equipment ranging from robotic automation systems to presses in steel mills.

Wyko Industrial Services aims to meet the demand for repairing drives and servomotor assemblies with its new electronics repair centre at Tyseley in Birmingham, UK By creating the new centre on the same site as the motor repair facility, Wyko can now offer a centralised motor and drive repair solution for more local customers across equipment ranging from robotic automation systems to presses in steel mills

The new Electronics Repair Centre enables Wyko to offer even more value added services, opening up opportunities in terms of new local business and strengthening ties with the existing Midlands customer base.

The arrangement mirrors the successful Aintree centre covering the North of England.

Offering free quotations as well as a decommissioning and recomissioning service, the Tyseley centre has the very latest equipment, which is the key to Wyko's extended repair capabilities for both drives and specialised motors.

Most modern electronic drives have a finite life of around 40,000h or 5 years of continuous operation, resulting in many plants in Birmingham and the surrounding area requiring upgrade or repair services even on the most common types of drive, which are often unsupported by the manufacturer.

Customers with automated production lines are also set to be one of the largest beneficiaries of the new services, as the centre has been designed to offer a complete repair or replace solution for high tech servo systems.

For existing customers with larger power transmission systems such as those found in the automotive and steel industries, Wyko offers the convenience of a more local and comprehensive drive and motor repair solution from one single location.

By being able to handle electric motors up to 19tonnes and drive systems over 75kW, companies no longer need to coordinate separate suppliers for either repairing or replacing units, saving time and ensuring a more homogenised solution.

Not only are drives repaired to the original specification and guaranteed for 12 months, but engineers can also make sure that systems are optimised for the required motors before being returned.

A new condition monitoring team is also operating from the site that is employing the latest vibration and thermographic analytical equipment to help companies avoid unplanned downtime with more accurate and regular analysis.

Both the motor and drive repair facilities are backed up by the network of special partners, allowing Wyko to supply a greater range of replacement components on shorter lead times at a preferable cost. Request a free brochure from Eriks UK ...
