Digital X-ray technology NDT facility
demonstrated
A digital X-ray technology demonstration facility is now available for product demonstration, component testing, problem solving and system optimisation for X-ray NDT needs.
X-Tek Industrial, a world leader in X-ray equipment for industrial Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) has today announced the opening of its new digital X-ray technology demonstration facility at its Grist Mill, Great Yarmouth headquarters The new facility will be a one stop shop for product demonstration, component testing, problem solving and system optimisation for X-ray NDT needs

X-ray systems maker appoints production manager
X-Tek Systems, one of the world's top manufacturer's of real-time microfocus x-ray systems is pleased to announce the appointment of Les Goddard as Production Manager.
All the major digital X-ray technologies will be available for demonstration and evaluation and X-Tek Industrial will also offer feasibility studies and service inspection work at competitive rates from the new centre.
Among the facilities available at launch will be the new Venlo, fine grain film replacement cabinet, the Series V 225kV general purpose large component inspection cabinet and the MXB X-ray cell for larger, higher density components.
With all these technologies under one roof and used in conjunction with X-Tek's 'IMPS III' multi-sensor, flexible X-ray systems software, this new facility offers a choice of digital X-ray solutions and equipment un-rivalled in the UK and Europe.

Film replacement technology covers costs in 1 year
One of the first companies to take delivery of a high resolution, film replacement X-ray inspection system recouped machine cost, through saved film and processing costs, within 12 months.
Continuous scanning system checks tube welds
Offering film quality resolution with the cost and time-saving benefits of real-time digital outputs, a continuous scanning system is designed for linear, circumferential and spiral welds in tubes.
The VENLO 320kV high-power micro-focus and digital flat-panel cabinet system offers true film replacement technology with much reduced exposure times and increased productivity.
Its CNC controlled component tray can be used to achieve resolutions and performances that exceed conventional fine grain film.
Also available is a dual technology 225kV Series V X-ray cabinet system fitted with both a mini-focus and micro-focus x-ray source.
The cabinet has a 1K x 1K resolution real-time image intensifier based detector and an amorphous silicon digital flat-panel.
Changeover of either sources or detectors can be achieved in minutes.
The cabinet is also configured to allow 2D or 3D Computed Tomography demonstrations.
The largest system available is an MXB x-ray cell for larger, higher density components and other technologies.
This is a 450kV version of the company's Modular X-ray Bay (MXB) fitted with a variety of constant potential (CP) X-ray sources including a 450kV source and 200kV Panoramic CP System.
This bay is used for demonstrating higher energy imaging, computed tomography, X-Tek's FfresheX weld inspection technology, the XV Series CCD detectors and the company's extensive range of X-ray Linear Detection Arrays (LDA's).
All X-Tek Industrial systems use the company's 'IMPS III' X-Ray Systems software, which includes powerful image processing, image pre-processing/correction, CNC teach/repeat, image archive and database facilities.
This software is based around X-Tek's own in house, speed optimised, x-ray imaging engine, which has been developed over six years.
X-Tek Industrial designs and manufactures comprehensive and innovative range of X-ray equipment for industrial non-destructive testing.
In-house capabilities include mechanical/electrical design, turnkey project management, image processing, automated defect recognition (ADR) and computed tomography (CT).
X-Tek industrial has considerable expertise in detector design and its comprehensive range includes amorphous silicon panels, linear array detectors, multi-line detectors and CCD imagers.
Standard products include X-ray cabinets, x-ray rooms and constant potential X-ray sources using both sealed and vacuum de-mountable microfocus tubes.
Custom solutions are also available to meet customers exact performance requirements.
X-Tek Industrial has extensive X-ray R and D facilities.
