Large CNC lathes to be got for attractive prices
Value for money CNC machine tool specialist, XYZ Machine Tools in Devon, has expanded its range of CNC lathes with the introduction of the Vulcan series of turning centres.
The straight bed truck with crane and trailer was selected because it provides maximum flexibility in use.
A significant number of machines can be transported at one time and has the capacity to handle bed mills, ProTURN lathes, VMC, Mini-Mills and turning centres, which account for over 50% of XYZ's business.
With the trailer detached the relatively short 20ft bed allows easy access to companies which have difficult site access.
The truck has a planned life expectancy of eight years.
The new truck replaces the existing delivery truck, equipped with a fork lift to handle the turret mills which were then the mainstay of XYZ's business.
As the company and the industry has grown, so the balance of machines sold has altered and now far more of the heavier machines are sold.
The new Scania will allow XYZ to deliver 90% of machines sold itself, only using a sub contractor for the remaining 10%.
MD of the company Nigel Atherton said "Every business must continue to invest in good quality equipment in order to remain competitive and to survive.
To continue our present growth and provide customers with the high level of support they have come to expect from us, we must invest in the business.
We needed to find a more efficient way of moving machines around the country to meet our increasing level of sales and the high demand for rented machines". Request free introductory details about products from XYZ Machine Tools ...
