Five expectant fathers were unexpected!
Machine tool company's managing director was 'lost for words' when five key employees applied at once that they would want maternity leave - showing how welfare legislation affects companies.
It is just as well that XYZ Machine Tools' managing director believed: "No one, including me, is irreplaceable," because Nigel Atherton admitted to being 'lost for words' when, in quick succession, five key people in his administration team announced that they would be needing maternity leave "It is extremely good news for the individuals concerned and, of course, we wish them all happy and healthy babies," he said, "But it was quite a shock at the time
