VMC spindle has high axial thrust

The 40 taper spindle of a 10kW vertical machining centre, with 760mm by 430mm work area, is designed to provide a high axial thrust capability while generating minimum heat.

The new XYZ 710 VMC extends XYZ Machine Tools' range of vertical machining centres to a 10kW, 60-8000 rev/min machine with a 760mm by 430mm working area and a table load capacity of 350kg Control is via the Siemens 810D conversational Shopmill CNC, with Fanuc or Heidenhain as options

X, Y and Z axis travels are 710mm, 450mm and 510mm respectively, with all three axes capable of 20m/min rapid traverse.

Maximum cutting feed rate is 10,000mm/min, with hardened and precision ground square slideways on all three axes fully-enclosed to ensure maximum machine service life.

The 40 taper spindle of the XYZ 710 VMC, which is designed to provide a high axial thrust capability while generating minimum heat, is serviced by a 16-tool capacity automatic tool changer.

This holds tools weighing up to 8kg.

A faster 20-tool ATC is available, with a tool change time of 2s, tool to tool, and 3.5s, chip to chip.

As with other models in the range, the XYZ 710 VMC features Meehanite cast iron elements for maximum rigidity and vibration absorption.

A front opening swarf drawer allows for easy swarf removal, although a conveyor or 'screw -type' auger is available.
