Having a main spindle rated at 15kW (20HP), the XYZ 1060 HS has a standard spindle apeed of 12,000 rev/min.
Optional maximum spindle speeds can be optionally specified at 15,000, 18,000 and 24,000 rev/min.
The oil cooled main spindle spindle delivers coolant at 20.4 kg/cm2 to flush chips and dissipate heat when machining blind holes and deep cavities.
The spindle oil cooler fprovides temperature control within +/-1 deg C, said XYZ and the spindle is supported in ceramic bearings, which have been dynamically balanced to give smooth and accurate cutting performance.
* CNC system - the XYZ 1060 HS is equipped with the easy-to-use Siemens 840D ShopMill conversational CNC.
XYZ said that although the Siemens 840D CNC contains powerful conversational programming routines, there are occasions when CAD/CAM may be used to generate a program.
The CNC's four millisecond block processing time allows the handling of large amounts of data and, in combination with the Siemens Compcad spline interpolator function.
This arrangement, said XYZ, ensures that however complex the component's surface profile, optimum feed rates will be maintained and a high quality surface finish achieved.
