Business improving said MACH exhibitor
Genuine interest was shown in a new low cost vertical machining centre at MACH 2002, which was encouraging and we definitely detected signs that business is getting better, said Yamazen.
While there were some concerns about just how successful MACH 2002 would be, leading machine tool distributor Yamazen (UK) was certainly pleased that it exhibited "We were pleasantly surprised by both the quality and level of enquiries we received at the show," says managing director Colin Donhue

This compact machine has axis travels of 508 by 406 by 355mm, a 16-station ATC and is powered by a 12HP motor which provides spindle speeds up to 7500 rev/min.
The acronym stands for Economy Machining Centre and this American-built model sells for just GBP 29,950.
Another machine which drew visitors on to the stand was the Mitsubishi M-H5B high speed horizontal machining centre.
And following several initial discussions, Yamazen now has a number of key project leads to pursue for this twin-pallet machine.
As well as having many positive enquiries to follow up, Yamazen also sold a machine at the exhibition.
For Newman Labelling Machines in Barnet, Hertfordshire, ordered a Fadal VMC 4020 on the stand.
This mid-size VMC will be used to increase the company's all-round capacity in the production of labelling machines for pill packs and bottles.
