Yaskawa's Varispeed VS-606V7 AC inverter that not only provides excellent starting torque, accurate speed control and stability at very low speeds, but also has automatic energy saving as standard.

Yaskawa's Varispeed VS-606V7 vector control inverter (V7) is a general purpose AC inverter that not only provides excellent starting torque, accurate speed control and stability at very low speeds, but also has automatic energy saving as standard Only previously available from 0.1-3.7kW, 240/1/50Hz or 400/3/50Hz inputs, the new V7 is now available up to 7.5kW

The V7 can handle most AC motor control applications, from those requiring high starting or breakaway torque, such as machines with eccentric loads, to fan and pump applications, where controlled operation can bring great savings in electricity consumption.

Yaskawa's unique vector control delivers superb motor torque characteristics; at least 300%/1Hz torque is assured by open loop flux vector routines which also have extremely fast processing speed to ensure smooth running.

The V7 has a number of powerful standard features, including a PID loop to enable fast responsive process control.

A braking transistor is included as standard and a high-speed current limiting function suppresses over-current trips.

Earth/Ground fault protection is also built in.

A novel feature is an easily detachable cassette-type cooling fan.

The mechanical nature of the fan in any inverter is a source of wear, since it is the only moving part.

Yaskawa recognised the need to periodically replace the fan and hence designed its snap-in arrangement.

As well as these standard facilities, an internal flash memory enables the inverter to be adapted to suit customised applications, such as for OEMs.

A wide range of operating functions includes multi-speed stepping (up to 16 pre-set speeds), up and down hold operation with memory, stall prevention, and slip compensation.

DIN rail mountings and simple screw-type control circuit terminals make installation secure, simple and quick.

Optional operator terminal and cable are available for remote operation.

A copy function is built into the operator unit to enable parameters from one drive to be copied to others.

The 3 digit, 7 segment, bright red LED display gives a clear indication of the inverter status, amps, volts, frequency etc.

CE, UL and Canadian UL accreditation, plus options cards for DeviceNet, Profibus-DP and Interbus-S make the versatile VS-606V7 inverter suitable for a huge range of applications, such as conveyors, hoists and lifts, fans and pumps, HVAC equipment, printing and textile machinery and food processing machinery.

A finless version is also available for applications where the customer provides their own heat sink, reducing the overall inverter envelope still further.

Worldwide service cover is available through the Yaskawa aftersales network.
