Upgraded VMCs will shorten cycle times
Upgraded VMCs feature including a high spindle speed, a more powerful main spindle motor and faster rapid traverse rates for higher performance and and economical working.
Yamazaki Machinery UK 's new Mazak VTC-200C-II and VTC-300C-II vertical machining centres offer a number of upgraded features including a high spindle speed, a more powerful main spindle motor and faster rapid traverse rates Combined, these features create two high performance, economical machining centres equally capable of production or prototype manufacture for large or heavy components

Yamazaki to stage 'EMO Encore' for UK buyers
UK buyers and specifiers of machine tools who were unable to attend the EMO exhibition can view and assess new Mazak machine tools at Yamazaki Machinery, Worcester, January 29-February 1.
Commonly, comparable vertical machines of this size operate with lower speed and less powerful spindle motors with correspondingly longer cycle times.
However, on the two new Mazak machines, the motor has been upgraded to a powerful 18.5kW, permitting operations such as heavy duty steel milling to be accomplished with the minimum cycle time.
By dual winding the spindle motor, high torque of 95Nm can be achieved to 11,000 rev/min and high power from 3,200 rev/min.
With a top spindle speed of 12,000 rev/min, exceptional surface finishes can be achieved when machining aluminium and copper alloy workpieces.
On the new machines the rapid traverse - on linear guideways - of the X, Y and Z axes is 36m/min which minimises non-cutting times while ensuring precise and consistent positioning.
Productivity is further enhanced with a chip-to-chip tool change time of just 4.7 seconds achieved via a double arm tool change mechanism.
On the VTC-200C-II the table size is 2000mm x 510mm with the X-axis travel being 1660mm, Y-axis being 510mm and Z-axis 510mm.
On the VTC-300C-II these are increased with a table size of 2000mm x 760mm, X-axis being 1740mm, Y-axis 760mm and Z-axis 660mm.
As standard, both machining centres have an ISO 40 taper, 30 tool capacity magazine which can be upgraded to 48 tools on the VTC-300C-II model.
Both machines are equipped with the Mazatrol Fusion 640M control system with its easy-to-learn and operate features, conversational format and facility for off-line programming.
Machine construction reflects the heavy duty machining applications they are designed for.
The base frame and headstock are rigid castings with substantial internal bracing to maximise rigidity.
This design supports heavy duty cutting requirements with better surface finishes and long term, maintained precision.
The work table is fixed to the bed frame for absolute rigidity and can accommodate a combination of heavy, over size and off-centre workpieces. Request a free brochure from Yamazaki Mazak UK ...
