Larger workpieces completed 'in one'
set-up

Large multi-function mill-turn centre is designed for the 'done in one' or 'one-hit' approach for larger workpieces up to 545mm turning diameter and 753mm length.

The Integrex-100 ST IV, which made its European exhibition debut at EMO as with the larger Integrex machines is ideally suited to 'Done in One' machining With its twin 6000 rev/min spindles combining with the upper rotary tool spindle (5.5kW) and the lower, nine-station drum turret, cycle times are dramatically reduced

This 'Done in One' approach is of interest and value to users across a wide spectrum of industries and company sizes, providing greater productivity and increased versatility to the manufacturing environment.

The specification of the Integrex-100 ST IV in more detail is as follows: Both the turning spindles are identical, integral spindle, motor units rated to 11kW and producing 16.4kgf of torque.

The spindles' C axes can position to 0.0001 deg, due to the use of a rotary magnetic encoder.

The rotary tool spindle (B-axis) also benefits from the use of an integral spindle motor with 12 000 rev/min and 5 kgf of torque available from the 5.5 kW unit, making it ideal for machining a variety of materials.

For higher speed applications a rotary tool spindle with 20 000 rev/min is available as an option.

The B-axis can be positioned in 0.0001 deg increments anywhere within its 120 deg of movement, with backlash eliminated due to the use of a roller gear cam.

Supporting the effectiveness of the B-axis is the standard 20-tool automatic toolchange magazine (up to 80 tools optional), which delivers a toolchange in 1.2s (tool-to-tool).

All of this is combined with a machining envelope of 545mm maximum turning diameter and 753mm maximum machining length.

A further three machines complete the Integrex IV series, these being designated Integrex-200, Integrex-300 and Integrex-400.

All machines in the series can be specified with or without the lower turret and/or with or without the second spindle.

Similarly, all of the machines in the series are controlled by the state-of-the-art Mazatrol Matrix CNC control.

This control was designed specifically with multi-function machining in mind and can be programmed easily for synchronised and simultaneous movement of the upper and lower turrets, along with the B- and C-axes and both spindles.

For additional productivity gains the Integrex-IV range of machines can be specified with a number of automation systems, from barfeeds through gantry robot loading systems to a full flexible manufacturing system.

When combined with the ability to remotely monitor the performance and status of the machine through the Mazatrol control, prolonged unmanned operation becomes a viable proposition. Request a free brochure from Yamazaki Mazak UK ...
