Yorkshire Packaging Systems (YPS), the sole distributor of Bollore polyolefin shrink films, has introduced a pre-perforated film into its range During the shrinking process any film must have hole perforations to allow trapped air to escape and facilitate good presentational shrink

Otherwise, the heated air would burn its way out of the pack.

Maintenance problems can be caused if perforation wheels become blunt, causing film to tear.

Bollore developed the BE grade of pre-perforated film, available in a range of gauges and widths.

Glyn Johnson, YPS sales director, said: "We have seen so many problems with incorrect perforations especially on some of the cheaper machines and systems on the market.

This new film should make life easier for users and that has been the initial feedback.".
