Advanced integrated data acquisition and browsing stations offer higher performance, new display and storage capabilities and expanded communications functions.

Latest generation of DAQstations offer higher performance, new display and storage capabilities and expanded communications functions The new DAQstation DXAdvanced Series from Yokogawa are integrated data-acquisition and browsing stations which extend Yokogawa's expertise in paperless recorders by offering exceptional levels of performance, new display and storage capabilities, and expanded communications functions The two new instruments in the range, The DX1000 and DX2000, offer extended multi-channel acquisition at high sampling speeds and expanded internal memory capacity

Enhanced network functions include powerful Web facilities plus Modbus/TCP and SNTP/DHCP communications, while the inclusion of a USB interface and the AddDataBrowser function from Yokogawa's DAQWORX software suite provides flexible browsing capabilities.

Both new DAQstations feature large, clear colour displays, with a screen size of 5.5 inches (140 mm) for the DX1000 and 10.4 inches (264 mm) for the DX2000.

The display can be customised to a wide range of configurations, including changing the size and position of trend, digital and bar-graph indications, incorporating automatic alarm indication in a different colour, configuring the display menu and changing the role of function keys.

The background can also be changed to a bit-map image for user configurable displays.

A direct display change key makes it possible to change the display by definition or jump to a historical display), while frequently used screens can be added to a 'favourites' list and easily called up just by pressing the 'favourite' key.

Messages can be added by plugging a keyboard in to the optional USB port.

The standard instruments feature 48 fully isolated channels, but this can be extended to 348 channels by using the DAQstations in conjunction with Yokogawa's MW100 data-acquisition system.

Sample speed is 125 ms on 48 channels, although for a smaller number of channels this can be improved to 25 ms, and the maximum internal memory capacity is 220 Mbyte.

The extended memory helps to ensure high reliability of data management in the event of power failure.

The optional USB interface also allows measurement data to be saved onto a USB storage device.

The DXAdvanced Series can be interfaced with an MW100 data-acquisition system or external controllers via the Modbus TCP connection, allowing extended mathematical capabilities or multiple batch control to be implemented.

The DAQWORX AddDataBrowser software can be used to search data by time, hardware serial number, message batch or comment, including data files created by different hardware and software or on the network.

It will also display different types of data - with different sampling intervals or different start times, for example - in different windows.

Yokogawa has opened a new website to promote the release of the DXAdvanced Series.

A free CD-ROM with technical data is also available.
