Binns and Berry has won an order to supply a custom heavy duty CNC lathe to manufacture, and re-manufacture, Caterpillar off road vehicle components in Indonesia.

Binns and Berry, Halifax, UK, is supplying a single machine solution for the manufacture, and re-manufacture of Caterpillar off road vehicle components in Indonesia The contract was successfully won despite strong competition from an Asian competitor

Carl Griffiths, of Binns and Berry comments: "This contract has confirmed our position as a key player in the global machine tool manufacturing marketplace".

"We are delighted to have the opportunity to provide a innovative solution to a world class manufacturing company." The custom built Data 3000-1000 x 3000mm machine with 368 spindle bore and dual chucks, will have a purpose built saddle that will carry a massive 20kW diamond belt grinder at the rear of the cross-slide.

In addition to the interchangeable turret and superfinishing head to the front of the cross-slide, the machine will also be equipped with GE Fanuc 18i CNC and high-pressure coolant.
