Plenty of power built into mill-turn
centre
A powerful, high torque mill-turn centre with an 18/15kW main spindle motor driving a chuck of up to 10 inches in diameter also has an opposing spindle with a six inch chuck.
The Japanese turning machine manufacturer, Takamaz, has introduced a powerful mill-turn centre with an 18/15kW main spindle motor driving a chuck of up to 10 inches in diameter The opposing, 7.5/5.5kW sub spindle has a maximum chuck size of 6 inches

Repeatable EDM accuracy gives die maker the edge
Ona wire EDM cell cuts hollow or solid, simple or complex shapes and single or multi-cavity dies with repeateable accuracy.
Sole agent, Yuasa Warwick Machinery, describes this X-200 lathe as a "production workhorse" which generates high torque for heavy duty turning at both ends of the machine.
Optimum turning diameter is 340mm in the main spindle and 300mm in the sub spindle, both of which have 5,000 rpm maximum rotational speed and a full C-axis option.
Turning length at each position is 510mm and 360mm respectively.
Maximum bar diameter through the main spindle is 65mm, although a 51mm bar version can be supplied with 8 inch chuck and 15/11kW main motor.
If a magazine is fitted to the right side, 35mm bar can be fed through the sub spindle.
In place of the latter, a tailstock may be specified.
It has 350mm of travel and a 125mm quill stroke, MT-5 taper and nearly 6kN thrust.
Driven tool power is high at 5.5/3.7kW and is available at all 12 stations i n the turret, delivering 4,000 rpm maximum.
Up to 20mm diameter holes may be drilled, while rigid tapping is to M12.
Optional VDI tooling speeds set-up for a new job.
Contributing further to high productivity by minimising non-cutting times are rapid traverse in X, Z and A (515mm sub spindle movement) of 18, 24 and 30m/min respectively.
Cutting feed rate is to 5m/min.
Installed weight of the machine, depending on configuration, is around 4.5 tonnes, indicating the robustness of build and hence the accuracy of machining that may be expected.
Control is by the capable Fanuc 18i-TB 5-axis CNC with Takamaz interface.
