Manufacturers wanting to introduce barcoding rapidly and effortlessly into their operations are set to benefit from a thermal barcode label printer with expanded connectivity capabilities.

Manufacturers wanting to introduce barcoding rapidly and effortlessly into their operations are set to benefit from the recent UK launch of the enhanced 2746e thermal barcode label printer from Zebra Technologies, a global leader in delivering printing solutions for business improvement The full-size 2746e features expanded connectivity capabilities, including standard serial, parallel, and USB communication ports, coupled with a new internal Ethernet option, enabling the printer to be connected to virtually any host system

Users can create a free-standing or networked labelling centre, simply by adding an optional keyboard display unit (KDU) or factory-installed Ethernet adapter.

"The new connectivity capabilities makes the 2746e printer ideal for companies that are new to barcoding and want to implement it immediately, with the minimum of fuss," says Chris Walsh, managing director of Zebra Technologies.

"Users also benefit from the added durability of the steel casing, allowing the 2746e to provide a full-size, affordable printing solution well suited to light industrial manufacturing and distribution operations," adds Walsh.

In addition, the 2746e features upgraded electronics and additional memory for increased label lengths.

This allows it to print individual, on-demand, or full-roll batches of labels, and prints labels up to 22 inches (559mm) in length, ensuring optimum performance.

The 2746e is fully compatible also with existing EPL II legacy applications, and is still only one of the only 4 inch (10.2cm) wide label printers that comes standard with label peel and rewind capabilities.

In addition, the 2746e offers a clean-lined appearance, compact footprint and new ribbon spindle design.

Commenting on these features, Walsh concludes, "Combined with the enhanced connectivity and additional memory, the 2746e significantly improves its price performance value over the older 2746 printer." Zebra solutions specialists are now accepting orders for, and designing barcode printing solutions based on, the 2746e printer.
