A Zed Systems product story
Edited by the Manufacturingtalk editorial team Feb 1, 2006

Driven trollies - provided in a range of standard sizes or customised - offer reliable and cost effective materials handling and have been trialled successfully by an automotive plant.

Trolley Drive has now been successfully trialled by a major automotive supply company and we are currently awaiting directions for the release of several units.

The successful universal drive was developed at a customers' request as an answer to their specific needs.

The 'Trolley drive' as it has come to be known, had to be available for use by lots of different people, thus a moveable tiller arm was added to provide ease of operation.

Trolley Drive can be provided in a range of standard sizes, or the trolley manufactured to customers' requirements, providing reliable and cost effective solutions to materials handling.

The tiller head encompasses a joystick for the operator to control the speed of travel, a direction selection switch and an anti-pinning switch.

Unloaded speed, depending on the trolley, is approximately 5km/h.

The time between charges of the battery depends upon the loads being moved and the amount the trolley is used, generally the charge will last between 4h and 8h.

Cost - complete unit (trolley fitted with drive system including adjustable handle; battery and charger) - GBP 1150.

The system conforms to CE directives 98/37/EC and 89/336/EEC.
