Low-Price Slider For LDPE Bags

Perdue Farms has enhanced the packaging for its Short Cuts fully cooked carved chicken and turkey strips by incorporating a new zipper from Zip-Pak.
Zip-Pak says packaging machinery can be retrofitted to accept the zipper in less than two to three weeks with minimal process changes.
Zip-Pak has also extended its line of webless PP-compatible zippers to include flanged zippers and zipper tape products.
Zippers are usually created from LDPE, which does not adhere well to PP.
Zip-Pak's latest technology combines the LDPE with a proprietary sealant material that allows it to adhere to almost any type of PP pack, said the company.
A new machine, the Advantage Model B32TSZ slider zipper system from Triangle Packaging allows zippers to be applied across the top (or short) side of the package.
It is the first commercially available VFFS machine to apply resealable slider zippers in a traverse, or cross web, direction and can be incorporated into highly efficient automated lines without affecting output or line speed, claimed Zip-Pak.
