Electromechanical 1200kN machine tests steel
In order to meet the growing needs of the steel industry, a range of electromechanical universal testing machines has been extended to 1200kN for tensile, compression, and bend tests.
Universal steel testing machines' capacity doubled
For tensile, compression, and bend tests on steel specimens and components, the maximum capacity of electro-mechanical universal testing machines has been doubled to 1200kN.
As a result of the modular design it is the ideal instrument for all standard hardness methods, including indentation/depth measurement, and optical testing.
In addition it can carry out an instrumented indentation test according to the Marten hardness procedure, and perform an optical evaluation during a single test sequence.
The new system is integrated into a Zwick materials testing machine, but can also be used with automated / robotic test systems.
Its true strength becomes evident when testing high-strength materials such as ceramics and dental materials.
Other materials such as steel, aluminum, plastics, glass and many materials used in automotive products can also be tested.
The machine is essentially four components: a materials testing machine, a hardness measurement head with the high-resolution indentation measurement system, a supplementary optical unit, and the proprietary Zwick testing software testXpert.
Two different hardness measurement heads are available; one for the load ranges 2N to 200N and the other for 5N to 2500N.
The main benefit of this system is the automatic evaluation of the test load/indentation depth characteristics.
This is achieved by using a special microscope with an integrated CCD camera.
Having made an indentation in the test sample the system can automatically measure the indentation depth or process the optical data from the supplementary optical unit.
An extensive compound table accessories program is available which makes batch testing possible by automating multiple indentation sequences.
The universal hardness tester is controlled by the testXpert software, which ensures reliable and safe operation, extensive functionality, and ease of use.
At the same time the user is able to define many different standard or specific test sequence configurations.
The test results are automatically evaluated and well documented in a clearly laid out test report, and the layout of this report also allows many different result formats.
The test data can easily be transferred to external databases. Request a free brochure from Zwick Roell ...
